Subscription Box Battle: Ipsy vs Boxycharm

Hi beauties! I have had this post on my mind for a while now and I am so glad I finally get to do it! I have been trying to decide if I wanted to stop getting my Ipsy bag which I ultimately decided against because it’s just too cute. I recently signed up for Boxycharm after seeing so many people talk about how much they love it. I’ll be sharing with you my pros and cons of each and why you would prefer one over the other.

I have received my Ipsy bag for almost two years now and I love it! However, I was starting to get bored with it; my last couple of bags were pretty basic. I will probably keep it just for the sake of having it and the bags are usually pretty cute. However, I started getting Boxycharm recently and I am in IMG_20171019_211057_331000love. So far I have received two full size eyeshadow palettes! The main difference between the two services is that one has full size products and the other sample sizes. Ipsy sends you four to five sample size products, and sometimes a full size item, for $10 per month. You get items that range from makeup, skincare, hair products and even nail polish [the same with Boxycharm]. The bag is usually worth more than $50 so you definitely get your money’s worth. This month’s bag had a full size eyeshadow brush by Firma Beauty and an Essence blush that are both really good quality. I am also excited to try the Tony Moly hand cream. The only downside is the It Cosmetics powder; I’ve had issues with it in the past. The products are hit and miss but I think Ipsy is great for IMG_20171019_210937_905000anyone and is an awesome way to try out different beauty products. As far as Boxycharm goes, you get four to five full size products every month for $21. This month’s box was worth well of $100; it included Dr. Brandt’s PoreDermabrasion  which retails for $58 on its own. I also received the Becca Prosecco Pop Highlighter and Tarte liquid lip in Bestie that I have been eyeing. Boxycharm is more for people who really want to get into makeup and don’t mind investing the extra $20 every month.

So far I am definitely liking Boxycharm a little better. I will however continue with both services. You can click the links to sign up for Boxycharm or Ipsy. Have you tried either one before? Or do you have a different one you would recommend? Let me know in the comments! And be sure to head over to my Instagram Story to see more pictures and swatches! Thanks so much for reading!
